WHAT IS STRESS?

Stress can be anything taxing to your mind or body. It includes all the everyday hassles of life; such as juggling work and family, fighting
traffic, and rushing to meet deadlines. It can appear to be positive or
negative, for example, getting a promotion…or losing a job. There is no way to completely avoid stress - it is part of living.

IS STRESS HARMFUL?

Yes, especially when severe or unremitting, stress may have a damaging effect. It can leave you emotionally overwhelmed. You may develop medical problems because it weakens your immune system. It can make existing illnesses worse. Fortunately, unhealthy reactions to stress can be changed.

HOW CAN I GET RELIEF?

Whether suffering from a specific stress-related illness, or simply
experiencing normal everyday stress, people can learn to improve their
"stress management" skills. Using safe and innovative techniques, you can learn and understand how to manage your stress, and regain control of your health.

WHAT IS BIOFEEDBACK?

Biofeedback is an easily learned technique to help people gain control over their reactions to stress. Using computers and digital equipment, a biofeedback clinician works closely with you to identify how your body responds to stress. Through "feedback" from the equipment, you discover the particular stress management skills, which work best for you. It is a safe and easy way to achieve dramatic and lasting improvements in your health and well-being.

Biofeedback is a process of self-regulation, allowing you to control your stress related problems and feel better. There is nothing harmful or
dangerous associated with biofeedback and so it is completely safe.
